Objective

This project aims at supporting the operationalization of the EU-MENA/LAS strategic dialogue on counterterrorism: support MENA region in building criminal justice systems allowing regional and international cooperation between countries to guarantee the security of their citizens in conformity with international law standards, Human Rights and the Rule of Law.

Three Pillars

This project has three main pillars :

  1. Operationalization of the Strategic Dialogue with the League of Arab States (LAS)
  2. Set up of a Technical Assistance Facility on CT (TAFCT) ready to intervene on a demand-driven basis
  3. Identification, implementation and monitoring of pilot projects

  • L'opérationnalisation du dialogue stratégique avec la Ligue des Etats arabes (LEA) ;
  • La création d’une Facilité d’assistance technique CT (TAFCT) mobilisable à la demande des Etats partenaires ;
  • L’identification, la mise en œuvre et l’évaluation de projets pilotes.

    Global threats and organised crime
    Terrorism and its corollary, organised crime, are today the main cross-cutting threats to peace and security at both national and international levels. The international community’s priority is therefore to combat these threats via cooperation among countries and the exchange of technical know-how.
